Crucial Reasons to Stay Motivated to Lose Weight

by Todd Hicks

Are you overweight and constantly out of breath? Do you often get sick or feel bad physically? Have you started a weight loss regimen to eliminate your physical burden but quit out of a lack of motivation? Becoming lighter should not be your only goal to lose weight. You will probably possess a higher desire to lose weight and stick to a plan that focuses on losing weight for good once you learn the bigger picture. You will learn the various reasons you should stay motivated to lose weight. Weight loss leads to better health. Obesity causes numerous diseases and cancers. If you eat foods that contain too much fat and cholesterol and you are too heavy, you will probably develop clogged arteries and consequently suffer heart disease or a heart attack. Stay motivated to lose weight to live a longer, healthier life.
Another reason you should stay motivated to lose weight is to have more energy. If you become slim and fit by eating properly and exercising regularly, you will be able to do physical activities and move around well for long periods of time because you will increase your blood flow, circulation, lung capacity and endurance.
You should stick with a weight loss plan to develop your self-esteem. Think about it. You will feel good about yourself and have pride when you become trim, fit and healthier.
Maintain a desire to lose weight to gain more strength. You will definitely become emotionally stronger as you shed pounds and you could become physically stronger too, especially if you incorporate strength training into your weight loss regimen.
If you lose enough weight, you might increase your pay or get a promotion. People who are considered attractive earn more money and consideration for a promotion than those who are not considered attractive.
You should stop eating too much to have fewer stomach aches. If you eat too much grease or fatty foods, you are likely to have an upset stomach and possibly experience the flu at least once or twice a year.
Stick with losing weight to move faster. Having too much weight will slow you down.
Picture yourself becoming a better athlete, especially if you are young. You will be able to play the sports you love better and maybe become good enough to become a well-paid professional athlete.
Avoid quitting your weight loss plan to find a mate if you are single. Many singles probably prefer a mate who is slim.
Continue to lose weight to inspire others. If you stick with your goal, you will probably encourage others to lose weight or do something else they want to accomplish.
Another reason you should stay motivated to lose weight is to draw praise. Others will congratulate you.
Keep all these benefits in mind to stay motivated to lose weight and live a more rewarding life!

Are You Fasting for Health or For Weight Loss?

by Aaron Patterson

Fasting has become increasingly popular as of late. There are a few health benefits to be gained from fasting, but often times I wonder if some people are fasting because they hope to lose weight. Fasting for health is fine, but fasting for weight loss is not such a great idea, for several reasons. Fasting for weight loss doesn't work as well as you'd hope. To begin with, many people don't realize that a large percentage of their daily water intake comes from solid foods, not liquids. (For example, an apple is 80% water by volume.) When you fast, by definition, you're eating little or no solid food. You can try to drink more water to compensate, but how do you really know how much more you need to drink?
You can probably see where this is going. If you're consuming less water, the first type of weight you'll lose during your fast... is water weight. And guess what happens when the fast ends? That water weight comes right back.
Even if you get your water intake right, you are fighting your body's natural inclinations if you fast for weight loss. Fasting causes the body's metabolism to slow down. The slower your metabolism, the harder it is to actually burn fat (or any calories you consume, for that matter). So while it's true that you can't really gain weight during a fast, it's pretty hard to lose it and keep it off, too.
Fasting for health is perfectly fine. But if your goal is weight loss, consider calorie shifting instead of fasting. Calorie shifting (sometimes called calorie cycling) is a unique dieting technique that varies the content and size of your meals in a manner that maximizes your metabolism. The result is that it becomes easier than ever to burn calories just by going about your regular, daily activities.
The most popular calorie shifting diet plan on the market is FatLoss4Idiots. When I posted a FatLoss4Idiots review to my dieting advice site, I almost immediately started receiving testimonials from people who have used this diet with success.

So, what can you do to achieve a more active daily life regardless of how hectic your schedules are? Among the best options is to drink energy drinks? So, how will you know if you are drinking the best energy drink?Well, the answer really depends on you. One person might prefer only a specific type of energy drink while others go for expensive drinks, thinking that these are the best in the market. As long as the drink satisfies your needs and suits your budget, then, you've got just the right drink right in your hands. The selection of energy drinks available today are countless but only of those are effective when it comes to providing the oomph you need daily. So, how would you know which energy drink is best for you? Firstly, look into its contents. What nutrients will you get from it? The more nutrients you can get the better. But wait, before you get carried away choose the one with lesser sugar content. This way you won't get too worked up because of low stamina. Caffeine in the content is also a big no-no for this might cause nervousness or worst sleeping difficulty. And lastly, check if it fits your budget because if it doesn't, well, you better start looking for some other option.
So, what is the ideal choice as the best energy drink? Some might actually prefer water than the rest. But you see, drinking water all day long can get very dull. What you need is a little bit of change. How about vitamin water? This healthy drink contains vitamins that are most essential to the body. It's not as expensive compared to other energy drinks, but it is as effective when it comes to providing the energy you need every day. So, if you're after the best energy drink, choose what's really good and not just base your choices on the price.

3 Breast Cancer Treatments Explained

by Tom Parker

Approximately 44,500 people contract breast cancer every year in the UK. It is not yet known what causes this condition but it develops when breast tissues become cancerous. This causes them to multiply in a rapid and uncontrolled way which leads to a tumour forming in the breast. Fortunately, there are treatment options available and in this article I will be discussing three of these.
  1) SURGERY:- There are two types main types of surgery that your doctor will recommend. The first is breast conservation which involves the removal of any lumps and the surrounding breast tissue. There may be mild scarring following this type of surgery but overall the appearance of the breast should be similar post surgery.
The second type of breast cancer surgery is masectomy which involves the removal of the whole breast. This surgery is generally recommend if breast conservation surgery does not successfully eliminate the cancer or if the tumour has become very large. After this type of surgery your doctor is likely to offer you breast reconstruction, a treatment allowing you to get back the shape of the original breast.

2) RADIOTHERAPY:- This type of treatment involves aiming high energy radiation beams at the breast cancer cells in an attempt to destroy them. It is normally used before surgery (to shrink the tumour) or after surgery (to reduce this risk of the cancer coming back). However, it may also be used as an alternative to surgery when the tumour is small enough.

3) HORMONE THERAPY:- Certain breast cancers are sensitive to the female hormones oestrogen and progesterone. Your doctor will be able to perform tests to see how these hormones affect the tumour. Based on these tests they may then recommend hormone therapy. This involves preventing oestrogen or progesterone from reaching the cancer cells either by using drugs or via surgery which stops the ovaries from producing these hormones.
Whilst breast cancer is not a condition that anyone would desire contracting this disease is not the end of the world. Treatment is a very real possibility. I hope this article has provided you with an introduction to some of these but to get a full picture you need to go and visit your doctor. They have professional knowledge and will be able to help you choose the treatment that is right for you.
Whilst every intention has been made to make this article accurate and informative, it is intended for general information only. Breast cancer is a very serious, life threatening condition and you should discuss any concerns, treatments or lifestyle changes fully with your doctor.
